Using a Simple Black Chandelier with Lamp Shades

The earliest true chandeliers were used in medieval meeting halls as a way to provide light over the entire large space. Later in their history, chandeliers became more about being forms of decoration in large room as their branching stems and ornate designs act as a shimmering centerpiece to the room, often complete with crystals or glass prisms to refract light even further around the area.

The style of the multiple spindled lighting fixture has become so popular since its inception however that the design has been modified to suit more modest homes. A simple black chandelier with plain white, cream or black lamp shades can be used in so many different places and does not require a huge ballroom to be properly utilized. A unique dining room or special guest meeting room are the perfect areas to show off a chandelier of any kind, and chandeliers can even shine their light on and enhance other household spaces like a living room or den. Wherever they are found these lighting fixtures act as a way to include elegance to an area that might otherwise seem common place.

The same reason can be behind putting a chandelier in a bedroom and you will find that mini black chandeliers are available with matching black crystals for these small more intimate spaces. Too much light can be just as bad as not enough and these smaller chandeliers will avoid the excessive illumination which is not ideal in a bedroom.

If you can only find a larger chandelier to suit your room, make sure you use clip on lamp shades. This simple addition restricts the light source to a more comfortable level and you even add some extra flair with your selection of shade. With these clip on shades, you just have to snap the shade frame onto each of the candelabra bulbs of your chandelier. Chandelier lamp shades like this tend to be quite affordable for those on a budget and this also makes things easier if you want to change the shade to get a new look.
