Then when you go into a carpet retailer and see the price per square foot, plus the installation and padding, you’ll have a general idea of the overall cost. You can also save some money by removing the old carpet yourself, but remember you’ll have to find someplace to dispose of the carpet so keep that cost in mind as you figure your expenses.
