More often than not, people who are not used to working with glass washers may think the machines to be more complex than they really are. Apart from the electrical motor, the only other active parts are the brushes and the gears at washer’s bottom that allow the brushes and bushing to move. More often than not, these washers are very sturdy, and their parts do not require frequent replacement. If, for any reason, you begin to experience problems with your washer, it may be a good time to start inspecting each individual part for their degree of wear and tear. Each part is easily identifiable and can be cleaned with only a little effort.

In an upright glass washer, the ones that are used sitting in your sink with three to five brushes that rotate to brush the class, the brushes will tend to wear out after a certain amount of time of use. Most replacement brushes are specially made to fit within most types of glass washers, though it is usually best to purchase specific brands that will fit your brand of washer, to be on the safe side. The manual is a good place to check for brush information before purchasing the replacement brushes, and sizes may vary.

The bushing is one of the most difficult parts to gauge damage with, though if you find yourself constantly replacing gears, then there is a good chance that the bushing will need replacement. The best way to check is to feel the bushing’s texture with your fingers, making sure that the glasswasher is turned off of course. If they seem rough and worn, then it is probably a good idea to buy new bushing.

The glass washer is an extremely reliable and durable machine, but just like any other article of machinery that is composed of moving parts, it will require maintenance from time to time. Most of the parts can be easily replaced in hardware stores, or found on the internet at several reliable auction sites. Almost all parts are available for just about every make and model of the machine, so there is no reason to get rid of a worn glass washer when you can save yourself the money and merely replace its faulty parts. With careful application and understanding of the machinery, you will no doubt be able to effectively replace the parts and restore your washer to working order.
