How to Make a Mirrored Dresser

Mirrored dressers are becoming more and more popular because of their ability to change any dark, small room into a well-lit, elegant bedroom. If you are interested to experience the advantages of having one firsthand and have some time on your hands, you can make one for yourself. Below are the things you need and basic steps on how to make a mirrored dresser.

Things you need:

●     suitable dresser (must be simple, don’t mind the color-you can repaint that on your own)

●     sandpaper

●     screwdriver

●     Construction adhesive

●     mirror

●     Pant (optional)

●     Painting primer (optional)

Procedure

Note: If you already have a painted dresser on hand and are satisfied with its color and don’t plan to change it, jump these steps

  1. Sand the dresser well, make sure there are no remains of previous paint and the surface is smooth.
  2. Apply the painting primer evenly and let it dry
  3. When primer is dry, paint with the color of  your choice
  4. Let the paint dry completely

Applying the mirrors

  1. Measure out the size you want your mirrors to be. Label them according to where they are to be placed.
  2. Get the mirrors cut according to your desired size at a glass cutting company.This is quite cheap and is safer than cutting them yourself
  3. Apply the adhesive to the back of the mirror piece
  4. Allign the mirrors carefully to their respective locations
  5. Let the glue dry

Precautions

●     Make sure you work in a safe area, away from children or pets

●     If you intend to cut the glass by yourself, be very careful

●     Wear a mask when painting and applying glue

●     Make sure you have everything you need before starting
